the ballad never played
i had the honor and privilege to work with The Ballad Never Played’s director, Shelbi Powell, who created this film for her independent colloquium. my role was to be producer, assisting the director as needed, assisting with shot set-up, and managing time as we progressed through filming.
over the course of three days, we shot at three distinct locations that involved gunnison’s very own quarters and cockatils bar & arcade, Shelbi’s spartment, the mountaineer media sound stage, and various outdoor locations. acting as a producer for this film taught me the intricacies that is involved with filming, and watching Shelbi’s work ethic and creativity at first hand was an inspiration to behold.
